Since its inception in 1991, Carné Interiors has become a well-established and leading residential interior- and office design company, both locally and internationally with constant exposure to contemporary and global trends.

Carné Interiors is confident that this exposure works to the benefit of clients from the corporate, hospitality, commercial and residential interior markets who receive expert advice, innovation and service that is relevant and world-class.

We do not subscribe to a particular “style” or “look” at Carné Interiors. Each project is individually customised for each client according to the unique character and needs of the project.

Corporate Social Investment

Carné Interiors has adopted Boschkop Primary School and has started an interactive initiative between the community and Carné Interiors to uplift and renovate the school buildings. Via the Doxa Deo Church we are an integral part of their Pop-up Initiative to develop and train unskilled workers. Carné Interiors is a sponsor of Extreme Freedom, which is a rehabilitation centre for drug addiction.

Our Client Base

Carné Interiors has completed design projects both nationally and internationally for large corporate and commercial companies, small to medium enterprises, hospitality and residential clients, retail companies and banking institutions. Carné Interiors has an extensive client base which is available on request.


Case studies of our work have been published in interior design magazines such as Condé Nast, SA Home Owner, Tuis and Ray. Carné Interiors managed and edited an interior column for Beeld newspaper and was voted in the first place (platinum) as best design company for 2010 by Beeld readers.

Five of our design projects were featured on the DSTV program Tuine & Tossels on KykNet (channel 111). All aspects of our work have garnered awards, which include three gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal at the Home Makers Expo.

Carné Interiors were named Best Design and Decorating Firm at the Hertex Expo. We received a gold award in the Outdoor Category at the Tourism Indaba 2016. Carné Interiors is also a regular exhibitor and participant at Decorex and Rooms on View.

Our Design Process

We are often asked about how the design process works, from “Should I pick a rug or a paint colour first?” or “How do you figure out if everything will look right together?” or SPACE PLANNING…”How do I place furniture in this room/office, what do I take into account to make it useful as well as beautiful?

Step 1 : Interview and Discovery Phase. The first thing we need to know is who you are, how you live/how the office operates, and what you really desire for this specific space. Our client survey form hones in on these questions.  The client’s comments help us visually understand what they are drawn to and what they are hoping to achieve within the space.

Step 2 : Measuring & Taking Photos. We measure the space and take photos of each room. The architectural details are taken into consideration when creating the new design.

Step 3 : Floor Plans. The foundation for a good design is about having an efficient furniture plan with appropriately scaled furniture. Multiple floor plan options are provided to the client.

Step 4 : Creation of Design Concept. Let the fun begin! The colour scheme and overall design concept is created.

Step 5 : Paint, Furniture & Fabric Selection. With a clear design concept we start selecting options to present to the client through the creation of mood- and sample boards.

Step 6 : Quotation. With a clear design concept we do a detailed quotation and/or cost analysis.

Step 7 : Accepting of quotation, Ordering and Installation. Carné Interiors places orders and coordinates any contract work that needs to be done before the furniture is delivered. Walls are painted, light fixtures are installed, and drapes are hung. The project is completed and finishing touches are added such as accessories, paintings, mirrors and personal items.
